Practical, No-Nonsense Advice for Artists

“Sell Your Art: A 4-Step Guide to Effective Media Coverage is a surprisingly straightforward and useful read for artists who want to go beyond just creating and actually get their work seen. The book avoids fluff and keeps things grounded, which I appreciate—it doesn’t promise overnight success or spout trendy jargon.

The four steps are laid out clearly, and they actually make sense. There’s a strong focus on how to present yourself and your work to the media in a way that’s professional without feeling like you’re selling your soul. It’s geared toward creative folks, but the advice holds up for anyone trying to share a message or product in a crowded world.

If you’re looking for real strategies instead of motivational hype, this book gets the job done. It’s not fancy, but it’s useful—and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.”

The author prompts you and includes space for you to write your ideas and plans as you progress through the book -- it's almost as if she's standing over your shoulder and guiding you along. The best aspect of the book is that the author guides you through the process of preparing your background and press information, while using her material as an example. Overall, this is a very informative, helpful, and thorough book, written by someone with first-hand experience. It actually worked!!!!!!!!!!

I grabbed Nancy Murphy’s Sell Your Art ebook on a whim—and I’m glad I did. Murphy lays out a straightforward roadmap for getting my work in front of journalists and bloggers, and the examples she shares made it easy to follow. After tweaking her sample letters to match my own style, I started hearing back from a local newspaper within a month without really doing a ton of work. The ebook sidesteps jargon and gets straight to the point.
